Public playlist URLs are the best YouTube Music links to calculate because they include a stable list ID. Album pages, radio queues, and personalized mixes may look similar in the app, but they often do not expose the same public playlist data.

| youtube.com playlist | Supported | Regular YouTube playlist links use the same playlist ID format under the hood. |

Some YouTube Music queues cannot be calculated because they are personalized, private, local, or dynamic rather than stable public playlist item lists. The calculator works best when the shared URL includes a visible playlist list parameter.
Your Mix, Radio, and recommendation queues are generated for your account and can change between sessions.
Liked songs, Smart Downloads, and private playlists require account access, which this calculator does not request.
Some album pages look like playlists in the app but do not provide the same public playlist list parameter.
Playback speed math is exact, but speeding up music is uncommon. It is most useful for podcasts, interviews, lectures, and long audio.
Sources and methodology
The calculator totals public playlist durations by combining YouTube playlist item data with each video's duration metadata. This makes the result suitable for planning listening sessions, while still respecting private or unavailable items.
The tool uses the playlist list ID from a public music.youtube.com or youtube.com playlist URL. YouTube playlist item results are paginated, with up to 50 items returned per API request.
For each public item, the calculator reads the video content details and converts the ISO 8601 duration value into seconds before adding it to the playlist total.
Unavailable, deleted, private, or region-blocked videos may be skipped by YouTube and cannot be counted. The page explains those edge cases so the result is easier to interpret.
